Introduction
The Dutch tug manufacturer, V-Move, specialises in powerful electric tow tugs designed for industrial movement. Prior to dispatching their equipment to clients, each unit must undergo a rigorous final inspection. To facilitate this process, V-Move integrated the Edmolift TCB1000B scissor lift table into their workshop, ensuring every tug is scrutinised under optimal conditions before it leaves the facility.
Problem
Performing maintenance, repairs, or inspections on equipment at ground level is inherently inefficient and physically taxing. Technicians were often forced to constantly bend, kneel, or lie on the floor to access low-level components. This poor ergonomic environment not only slowed down the inspection process but also increased the risk of workplace injuries and long-term absenteeism due to repetitive strain and awkward postures.
Solution
To address these challenges, V-Move used an Edmolift model TCB1000B scissor lift table featuring a 1000kg capacity and a dedicated load ramp. The tug is simply driven or pushed onto the 1350mm x 1000mm platform. Using a remote control, the operator can precisely adjust the height, from a low profile of 80mm up to 900mm, to bring the tug to a comfortable workbench height that suits their specific posture.
Results
By bringing the work to the worker, V-Move has successfully eliminated unnecessary bending and stretching. The transition to an ergonomic height has significantly reduced inspection times, boosting overall workshop efficiency. Most importantly, the implementation of the Edmolift table protects staff health, preventing injuries and reducing absenteeism by ensuring a safer, more comfortable working environment.
